Product Owner Virtual Power Plant

Written by Recruitment | 23 March 2026

Drive our solar and wind farms. Become our Product Owner VPP and contribute to energy transition.

As Product Owner Virtual Power Plant (VPP), you will be responsible for a chain of applications that drive our solar farms, wind farms and batteries. These applications are developed in-house. You translate Scholt Energy's ambitions in the areas of flexibility, forecasting and renewable energy into a clear product vision and roadmap. You will manage the teams working on the VPP chain and ensure that these applications are stable, continue to develop and optimally meet the needs of our Renewables & Flexibility department.

In addition, in consultation with our external development partners, you are ultimately responsible for two other business-critical applications: Soptim (our ETRM system for balancing in Germany and Austria) and Cerqlar (sourcing & GVO management). You guard the cohesion between these systems, make sharp choices in priorities and know how to bring structure to a complex environment with different stakeholders. With your technical affinity, you participate at a high level in design and development, while keeping business value and processes central. You stand firmly in your shoes, monitor the scrum working method and dare to say 'no' when necessary to move the product and the team forward. Thanks to your power of communication, you bring teams, stakeholders and international partners into your vision.

This position requires an experienced Product Owner with a strong background in complex IT environments. You are decisive, communicatively strong and know how to bring structure and direction to a dynamic environment with many stakeholders. With technical affinity and Agile/Scrum experience, you effectively steer product development, with knowledge of the energy market being a major plus.

  • 4-5 years of experience as a Product Owner within complex IT environments

  • Decisive, strong in stakeholder management and monitoring Agile/Scrum processes

  • Technical affinity and able to think along about features, architecture and trade-offs

  • Excellent communication (NL & EN) and preferably knowledge of energy markets (such as VPP, ETRM, GVO)

You will join an ambitious and goal-oriented organization focused on delivering climate neutral energy for businesses, where a personal but professional culture and a strong team spirit are key. The company supports your growth, values initiative and offers flexibility, attractive benefits and plenty of opportunities to develop yourself while enjoying a positive and engaging work environment.

  • Clear mission and culture: focused on the energy transition, with an open, professional environment and high employee satisfaction

  • Strong emphasis on job satisfaction: weekly get-togethers, sporting events, team activities and international company outings

  • Growth and development opportunities: take responsibility for your career path with full support for training and internal mobility

  • Attractive conditions: solid benefits package, flexible working hours, hybrid work structure and €250 home office allowance
